The Racial Equity Initiative has two pieces: first to increase funding to stand alone LGBT organizations of color and second, to support and develop leaders in these communities. In 2008, PFund was awarded a $60,000 challenge grant from Funders for LGBTQ Issues, a national organization dedicated to increasing institutional giving to LGBT communities. In 2010, after surpassing our match goal, Funders for LGBTQ Issues awarded PFund with another opportunity to continue our impact in communities of color with a $35,000 matching grant. This total of $70,000 of funding goes directly back into our communities in the form of grants and technical assistance.

PFund has made more than $50,000 in grants through the initiative and 30 LGBT people of color leaders have gone through our leadership program. summerCAMP is a celebration for those organizations and leaders – and it’s also a celebration of you and the broader community. This is an opportunity for all of us to stand – or dance – together, showing how fiercely and collectively we stand with all LGBT communities of color in our region.

Kevin "Kaoz" Moore is a native Clevelander and an award winning writer, actor, poet and educator. Kevin began his career in the arts at age 8. In 1998, he was recruited to join Black Poetic Society, and Evolutionary Writer's Theatre, both nationally recognized spoken word performance ensembles. He represented Cleveland Ohio in the 2002 and 2003 National Poetry Slam competitions in Minneapolis, MN and Chicago, IL, self-published a chapbook of poetry entitled "The Y2Kaoz Project", and has independently released Project Mayhem Vol 1.5 a spoken word/ hip-hop mix tape that serves as first in what he calls the Fight Club Trilogy. In 2004 Kaoz made his playwriting debut with “Baba King” at the Ohio Theater. Also to his playwriting credits is Unseen: The Book Of Job which premiered at the Cleveland Playhouse and Voices: The Rhythm of Me at Cleveland State University Factory Theater.

Kevin currently resides in Minneapolis/St Paul Minnesota and manages the HIV/Health Education program for Pillsbury United Communities. He also joined the Breaking Ice ensemble at the Pillsbury House Theater company in 2008 and was featured in and co-wrote the piece entitled “OTHER”. In 2010 Kaoz re-emerged onto the hip hop scene, collaborating with numerous hip hop, pop and R&B artists from across the country. The Tyler Durden EP (Experience) , released June 2010, marks Kaoz’s sophomore solo music/spoken word effort, and was followed up by The Tyler Durden Mixtape (released August 2010) completes the Fight Club trifecta. Kaoz plans on releasing an EP entitled, “Enter-SexTions” & currently producing a full length hip hop CD “Real Talk” – which tackles HIV/STI prevention, stigma and homophobia.
