Thank you to everyone who made the 2012 Cabaret such a success! We broke every record possible- more attendees than any previous year, more funds raised to support PFund's work throughout the Upper Midwest, and the most fun we can recall!

What could be better on a hot night in July than spending the evening on a rooftop under the stars watching “Priscilla, Queen of the Desert” with other hot queens? Doing it on the rooftop of Solera, of course! Solera is
opening up their kitchen and their roof just for PFund, so bring a group of
friends — or meet new ones — and enjoy the summer evening breezes
with tapas and a cocktail in hand. We guarantee that the food, the
atmosphere and the queens in the audience will be just as fabulous
as the queens on the screen!

The theme to commemorate the 5th Annual Cabaret was "The Power of Five," highlighting many facets of PFund: there are five states in our Upper Midwest region, this is the fifth year of the Cabaret, we released an inspiring five-year strategic plan; we are approaching PFund's 25th anniversary, and the list goes on.
At this year’s Cabaret, we awarded the second Power of Philanthropy award, designed to recognize individuals who exemplify the PFund values of giving generously, building community, and inspiring others to give. Congratulations to Joan Higinbotham, the 2012 recipient of the Power of Philanthropy Award! Read more about Joan and her incredible work in a recent press release.

The Hot Club of Minneapolis
With over 30 years on the music scene, Dean Harrington is among the best guitarists around. With finesse, Dean and his quartet span the range of Jazz, Classical, Blues, Rock, Folk, and beyond! The Hot Club of Minneapolis specializes in playing a style of jazz called Gypsy Jazz (also known as Parisian Jazz or Hot Club Jazz) which is a funky fusion of musical flavors.
In shopping for the perfect closing act for the Cabaret event this year we decided to go custom, and thus First Call was created. It is comprised of folks who are at the top of the local list of artists who are able to perform anything and are the first call that club owners, band leaders and agents call when they need musicians/entertainers that can kick any style of music out of the park! With a set list that is handcrafted for the evening (from disco to rock to jazz to pop), we know everyone will stick around to dance, sing along and thoroughly enjoy the end of a fantastic evening.
Bandleaders Pete Hennig (drummer for City Pages “Band of the Year” - Atlantis Quartet) and Rachel Holder Hennig (one of the most versatile vocalists in the Twin Cities) will be joined by the likes of vocalist Deb Brown, Guitarist Blair Krivanek, pianist Brian Ziemniak and bassist extraordinaire Serge Akou. The resumes of these folks are far too long to include here. Suffice it to say that have all played with the “Who’s Who” of the Minneapolis Music Scene.
